    It's a good thing I wasn't leaving the scene of a bank robbery.8)

Nice letter. I can't believe they took the time to write that. :)
They usually just yell at me.

Thats BS dude. Think they would have better things to do. So far the only letter I have gotten from the sherrif read "Mr. Lighthall, enclosed is your permit to carry a concealed weapon..." ;)

I would have actually preffered the "complaintant" to say(yell) something rather than call the sheriff on me. I can't believe I didn't notice someone taking a pic of me. There are 2 contradicting parts of the letter besides everything else I dis-agree with. 1 the people in kayaks never said a word. However, I did find it amusing that they were even on the river. It was apparent that they were very in-experienced and were flailing to get to the side of the river as I was approaching (I thought it was funny). 2 they do patrol the river often. If you patrol down, you gotta go back up to get to the trailer. Either way I think it's a joke and I'm tempted to call Cpl. Mackey. It's actually hard to find a real definition of what wake actually is. Or, what the police consider a ticketable infraction. Oh well, atleast I got a cool letter from the cops with some serious evidence;D.

Its pretty bad in most places. People who live on the waters edge think they own it. Here, all the lakes are owned by the Army Corp of Engineers/TVA, and you still get people complaining about people fishing close to their property when in fact, its not their property at all. The land they built their house on is owned by the Corp/TVA, and they are leasing it. People think that public land that they lease is theirs and think they can control it however they like. There was a fishing tournament on TV where there were 3 boats by a dock at somebodies house. the guy came outside raising caine because it was like 7am, what the guy failed to realize was that one of the boats was a camera crew filming the tournament and filmed the whole thing. The homeowner in this case, was cited for numerous things because the film crew called in the F&W and had it all on tape.

The funny thing about that is, here homeowners don't actually own the property all the way to the river. I can actually stand in their yard and fish from the "high water" mark legally.

We have mainly trout here. The river is only a 3 minute drive to put the boat in. Rainbows fight better but, I prefer to catch the brown trout. They are more predacious.
