I would partly agree and mostly dis-agree. The letter is contradicting on the sheriff's part. Not to mention, had I received an actuall ticket, it would have been that much funnier. Mainly a joke to me.

Come on, your a strong guy you should have rowed up the river!

My comment is if they don't want wake and loud parties...they opted to live there knowing it was a busy river. It is like here in Redmond. The rendering plant here had to close down because of the newly built houses around it were complaining of the smell......come on it was there first. The new owners should have looked more into what they were buying!!

Bow Fishing.... That really upsets people... Cause of the high amount of lights you run. It's always best to do this around 1am .. and you bow fish right at the shore so it's even better..

    *wink**wink*

frog-gigging was the other way we dealt with people who where butt-heads like that. ;)

lol, i grew up on a man-made lake where 80% of the shore property owners were really old folk who would complain about the smallest thing.. I found it easier to just have one of the old vhs type video recorders with us when we went out on the boat. When the Arkansas Game and Fish folks were called, we would just show them the tape and go about our business..

More people need to take the advice of the surgen general and kick back with a glass of liquor every now and then. ;)

PITA---animal nazis, but seriously, thats kinda like a red light ticket right, but wheres the radar number on the pic that shows you are CLEARLY going over 5 mph, pretty good being able to judge your speed buy a still, maybe you have a really heavy cooler in the back causing the bow rise.......i wonder what theyd do if a wakeboard boat went by there.........might be fun to check and see mission

The actual parameters used by Marine patrol officers in my county is:
If you throw the boat into neutral, and the bow DROPS, you were exceeding the speed allowed in a no wake zone. And, judging by the picture that I saw at the start of this thread, yeah, you were guilty. I was a safety officer of the U.S.P.S., I had the opportunity of "riding shotgun" with the Orange County (FL) Marine Patrol. No wake zones here are reported to prevent manatees from being sliced by props, but surprisingly, all the "No WAKE" zones are next to marinas and boat docks...::)
Which leads me to believe Manatees live in marinas!;)

when i was a kid we lived on a lake,my mom nagged my dad relentlessly to clean up a spot in the lake were we could swim(it was mucky) one day he had the bright idea of tossing a few sticks of dynamite in there...long story short we swam there that summer but only after days of cleaning muck off the house, getting any ideas?

I question whether I may have this issue coming down the road. My tank is in my living room straight in from the bay window. I have a hanging Outer Orbit system, so naturally it throws extra light out particularly the actinics casting a blue light all over the room... dont' notice if from inside but outside the rooms all blue :)D). I wonder if someone complained over it... twice now in the past few weeks there has been a cop sitting directly across the street from our house, sat there for a while, then drove off. Last night was the 2nd time, and I got up to feed the fish, and just then he drove off. Blame my suspissions? lol... Our neighbors across the street, the only ones that would get a direct view of it, are our age and pretty cool... I'd be shocked and pissed if they called the cops about it.

Anyway I remember reading a few years back about a guy that lived a few stories up in an apartment, and the same bright blue light was seen out his window. Cops showed up suspecting he was a hemp farmer. Now, my tank can be seen from the street so hopefully that's not what's going on here :)

Anyway, I'm sorry to hijack the post, but sostoudt's comment was a little too eerie in timing!
