lettuce nudibranch= GHA eater??

    i was just wondering if the lettuce nudibranch ate hair algae i looked on a couple of sites and it said they did but i just wanted first hand results from people who have had them thanks in advance

    In my experience which luckly has been limited, they do eat it, I have used it to clean up some zoos I got in at the shop. The did what snails couldn't.

    Also if you trim the HA shorter snails can also be more effective on it, at least the Cortez turbos.

    You're in the same area as me (kind of..), providing that's Falmouth UK - I'd be really interested to know where you'd get the nudibranch from!

    Most LFS should have access to them, they are not rare by anymeans. Granted I can't speak for LFS across the pond but you guys have more access to Red Sea stuff and African stuff typically.

    i got a sea hare instead of a nudibranch because now people are telling me that lettuce nudibranches eat bryopsis. with everyone elses experience did your sea hare eat gha

    They aren't nudibranchs. They are sacoglossans. They will eat most turf algaes, including bryopsis, if it is sufficiently short to begin with (similar to the Mexican turbos.

    sea hares ONLY eat gha. watch out though, if it dies.... there goes your tank. return it to the store after the gha is gone and you might get some money back.
