I use both online and LFS depending on who has the better deal. that goes for equipment as well.

I buy what I can from my LFS, but they dont have the corals I want because not alot of people here want NICE corals. I am going to pick up a neat acro mini colony for 25 bucks. The poyple look brownish under their 10k hallides but i took a blue LED flashlight and the yellow brown, i think will look green under my lights in a bit.

Unfortunately I think large markets are the only place to get decent saltwater stuff, but with technology shipping and online vendors will be able to make up the difference. I have used any sponsors here to pick up frag's and minicolonies, as well as a fellow reffer off this site. I have yet to lose a piece.

I buy on-line 50% and LFS 50% on live stock. For goods, on-line 90% of the time. I get my shipments online the next day cuz they are Cal as well.
It costs me $20 to drive to my LFS, so the over night shipping is not that much more.
Only lost one fish to DOA and got a credit for it on my next order.

I buy my fish from liveaquaria because aquatouch prices are big rip offs imo. I also buy all my equipment online or craiglist.

I usually get fish/coral from my LFS because with the 30 dollar over night shipping they do online i can always buy myself another fish/coral in my LFS.

however if there is anything i really want that i cant find anywhere i buy it online.
i usually get equipment online too, just because there is a better selection.

I mix it up, alot of times I buy from the lfs to support the hobby in my area.

most of the time when I'm doing major overhaul of livestock I go online for the cheaper prices and better variety. When I only want one thing like a ora frag i will buy from the lfs, since they seem to only be 20 dollar more. It's funny how the ORA stuff has the least mark up of anything there.
