Bump. Just realized some of that algae is bryopsis. Am I likely to infect myself with that stuff if I buy one of these clams, or can I eradicate the bryopsis by scrubbing it off the clam?

Hair algae is all fun and games; I view bryopsis differently.

If it's bryopsis, I would avoid it like the plague.

haha yeah I don't think it will directly infect YOU..just your tank..

I would definitely avoid them. There are plenty of other places to get a clam!

I would never buy and place anything covered in algae in my systems and if they did not care enough to keep these animals in a clean system you have to wonder how well they where kept at all .. I'd never ship a coral or clam that was not perfectly clean and looking good But thats me Puppy mills are different I assume the same can be said for coral and clam mils .
