I recently setup my sump and installed a lifegard quiet one 3000 pump, but its anything but quiet. It has a loud vibration when its either sitting on the tank floor or when i lift it off the floor. Any suggestions?

FWIW, we're running a QO 4000 on one of our setups and it's pretty quiet.

Could your plumbing be transferring the vibration from the pump to the DT/stand? This often happens with rigid PVC jobs if the pipes aren't isolated.

Be sure there's no air trapped in the pump, as this can make them run loudly and reduces their flow as well.

Also, you could try using some Sorbothane hemispheres beneath the pump as...they can make a huge difference.

Does the pump make the same noise when it's submersed in a bucket of water with no plumbing (after you "burp" it)?

Just an update. The pump is now quiet. It must have a break-in period.
