Hi - I am in the process of setting up a new system. I have a Lifegard QL-25 new - and was going to install it. thing is its tall - once in I will not be able to access the light. Can I mount this sideways? I cant find much on it one way or the other.

Thanks - I will look into that - nothing mentioned in the manual. Looks like "normal" is upright.

I need to make the decision to install it or not - I am hearing very mixed reviews on using UV or going with algae in the sump with a light.

I want to work all this out before I set it up as I know that once its up and running a change like that is NOT an easy task.

Honestly I just feel overwhelmed - I have ad tanks 7 years fresh and African cichlid tanks - but nothing like this one. My end goal is a robust - live reef - corals, fish etc.

Yeah it gets a little overwhelming.

I am not familiar with that brand of UV. The brand and size makes all the difference. If the brand is sub par I probably would not bother. If it's a decent model than yes.

You might to better to edit the title of your thread to include the acronym UV to attract more hobbyist with first hand UV knowledge.

    Update!

I am going to keep the unit - now that I am doing my Sump in the basement under the tank - I have ample room to set it up properly.
