I just bought my first piece of sps. I have a spot for it at the top of my tank but was curious if I should acclimate it to my lighting first. At was at the top of the tank at the store under 6 t5 bulbs. It will be going about the same height from the lights in my tank, but with four t5 bulbs.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
No telling how old the bulbs at the store were or brand. Error on the side of caution and acclimate it to your lighting within reason.

Idk if it helps at all, but they had wave point bulbs and I'm running ATI bulbs.

Would you recommend somewhere in the middle of the tank for now? The only issue is finding somewhere where it will fit. It's an ORA piece so its on one of those huge black plugs.

I agree with Corailline on the acclimation.
