    1. I have light brown algea growing on the glass and top of the sand daily. Left unattended the glass is seriously covered in 4-5 days and the sand is not white on top, mostly brown.

    2. I also have a serious crop of green hair algea springing up on a number of areas of the live rock, mostly in shady areas away from the lights? What do I need to do?

    3. I have hundreds of small bubbles in the first 2 inches of the sand bed as you can see them against the glass. Appros 1/3 the size of a BB...

Specs: Established a year ago, 110 Gal Reef Tank, Live Rock 4-5" sand bed, Some soft and hard corals and a few fish. Tons of snails and a dozen red leg hermits and a dozen of the blue leg hermits, refugium with sand and the spagetti alges _____? Protein skimmer and frequent water changes with home-made 3 stage RO water...

    Any ideas?

Have you tested your phosphates recently? If not, test both your tank water and your r.o. water. Is the brown algae slimy or just dusty?

The bubbles are good, that is a sign of your tank maturing. The bubbles is the bacteria in the sandbed "finishing" the nitrogen cycle.
