I just added my OTB skimmer and now my light is too wide for my tank . I have the 6 light NOVA Extreme Pro and I have worked with my LFS the whole way on everything I ordered. I am new at this and didn't realize the placement of the tubes on the skimmer would be taller than the light is high. They don't open for several more hours and I'm just wondering if anyone knows if this light has higher legs than what comes with it? I don't think I can hang it as it is in a place with way too high ceilings. I have a 46 gal. bow and the ends are only 12" wide. Any suggestions

Can you take a picture of the skimmer, I'm not sure what an OTB skimmer is. What you could do is make brackets from the wall over the tank and hang the light that way. You can either buy them or just make them from wood or metal. They are really just triangles.

i think by OTB he means "over the back" of HOB.

i have the same problem with my 55 gallon/nova extreme pro/aquac remora HOB skimmer. i had to slide the light a little forward for the pipe on the skimmer.

Yes, I meant HOB. Thanks. And my tank is not wide enough for me to go any further at all. I think I'm going to take GuitarMan's suggestion and put brackets on my wall and go from there. It's not what I really ever had planned to do, but it may work out best overall.

make sure you hit the studs behind the wall.. or light fixture could fall into the water over time due to weight.

    I'd use 2" to 3" long screws..

    just fyi
