Okay so my power compacts finally bit the dust. One of the ballast went out, and the fixture about 7 years old so i figured its time to update. Im not too interested in LED's maintly because of price and i figure in a couple of years they will be much lower. When T5's came out they were over priced and now they are cheap.

The link above is what i was considering. I would buy two of them because i have a standard 125 Gal. As far as corals go, i would like to keep mostly soft and LPS, but would like to be able to keep plate coral and SOME SPS. Any other light systems out there that are good for around $500?

As far as halides go, i would like to have some but cant describe to you how much i dont want to have to buy a chiller.

Okay i cant figure out how to get it to work either. But how many T5's would be suitable to grow plate coral and some SPS. 125 gal standard size. Or could you guys recommend a nice fixture for around 500 bucks???

This will be more than enough to grow anything you want in the tank.

Yeah, I actually though that as well at first :)

I do think that this fixture would be worth it.

I know you said no to led because of the cost so im just throwing this out there....you could get two led fixtures and light it pretty well.
