I have a Coralife Pro light fixture on my 110 gallon tank. That's two 150 watt MH, and two 96 watt actinics. I'm looking for suggestions for corals that would love being near the top of the tank.

The LR at the top comes within 4-5 inches of the water line, and the lights are about 8 inches above the water.

Currently I have a galaxia coral near the top, and it's quite happy. I had a bright green pipe organ coral near the top, but it wasn't opening as much lately, so I've moved it a little further down the tank.

I'd like to get a maxima clam eventually, but my tank is still pretty new.

I have one small SPS frag that started to bleach when I moved it to the top rocks, but I'm open to SPS if people can recommend some that love the light.

I had a montipora frag that started bleaching when I upgraded my lights from 4x65w PC to 2x150w HQI and 4x54w T5's. I had to "Light Acclimate" them as well. I turn my Halides off for a few days, then i ran them 2 hours a day for a week, next week i moved it up to 4, and so on.

Most sps will be fine, but you need to gradually acclimate them to the light. It probably bleached b/c it was put there too quickly and wasn't used to it. Acropora should do well up that high, there are a ton of different acros so have a look around.

Actually, I did acclimate it.... moved it up slowly. I just hit a certain point that it didn't like. I guess I could try again, but it seems to be responding very well where it is now.... quick growth, etc.

There are some SPS (SPS is a VERY broad term, hundreds of species) that will do better with a little less light. Most Acropora species will do well with higher light. There are tanks that run with 400w metal halide lights with Acros at the top so don't worry that there aren't some out there you just need to find the right species/strain.
It's possible you acclimated too quickly or it was a lower light species.
With only 4-5" though until it hits the water surface that's not a lot of room for Acros to grow so you might consider a plating Acro like an Acropora efflorescens or a tabling Acro millepora or Acro. hyacinthus like the ORA Red Planet.
