I was just setting up my lighting and was wondering if this was a good combonation? I have my actinics come on at 9am then my day lights come on at 10. Then my day lights go off at 9pm and my actinics go off at 10pm.

Also should the actinics be on the whole 11 hours or should they turn off at some point in the middle and turn back on?

Hmmm. I run my actinics about 10 hours. Halides run only about 7. My actinics are on the entire time there is light in the tank. The daylights come on later, and turn off earlier. The actinics are usually used to mimic dawn and dusk. My actinics come on at 9a. The halides come on at 11:30. Halides turn off at about 6:30p. Actinics turn off at about 7:30p.

There's no right and wrong. Whatever works for you. Generally, I think most run their actinics both before daylights come on, and after daylights shut off.

what bout using 20000k globes and then brushing the atinics altogether? like just use normal 10000ks to do the sunrise and setting thing
