i just got my t5 for my 20 gal tank, but i made the mistake of get this one Aquarium Lightings - T5 Lighting and T6 Lighting which is a 24" i needed a 36".

so my question is will that be enough light? or i should just do a reorder and get the right size. all i have right now is zoa, polpy lots of shroom, and a mont capricornis. at some point i plan to get a Kenya tree, sun , and maybe a mont purple polyp. i also have my other PC fixture i would put that on it two maybe.

I would definitely change out that fixture for a 36" one. T-5's don't spread out as much as MH's so you would have nearly 12" of space where you couldn't keep corals.

ok am just venting now, it been 3 week since i contacted aquatrader for a exchange(am talking sending emails every 4 day). they claim they will reply in 48 hour, someone don’t know how to count. Has this happen to anyone else? And at this point i think am just going to keep it.

Never had a problem with them, but I never emailed them I called them at 650-872-1993 and got taken care of right away.

By the way are you sure your tanks a 20 gallon, 20's are either 24" or 30 if a 20 long, never seen a 20 that was 36" long

ok i think am losing it... i got the 24" for my 20 gal tall, the PC that i have now is 28" and on aquatrader it gose from 24" to 36". so i guess i will have to make it work for now and it a T6 not a T5

T6's are just as good as the T5's, bulbs are a little harder to find but you can find them.

Hi raw, I would use both, the PC and the new one. You will get plenty of light. If the PC is 28" and the T6 is 24" no big deal that's only a couple of inches on each side. Make sure the PC bulbs are no more than 6 mos. old if so, replace them.

    Update

I plug up the fixture it looking good, but here is the problem. at first it was very very bright, then the following day it was still looking good then I heard a pop and the light dimed a little. I didn’t really notices because i have to fixture on my tank. A few hours later I turned off one of the fixture and then i notice the light was not as bright as it was. Any idea what happened?

    Sec Q
it seem when I put the new light on my Mon capr was to closes to the light, and bleached down to the X-skeleton should I dip him or let “it” be at its new locate at the bottom of the tank?
