    Guys and gals, would 2 par38 bulbs be enough lighting for a 57g illuminata..

    36w x 18d x 21H

    dont really wanna hang two 120w fixtures over the tank... trying to keep it looking clean..

    i want sps in the tank for sure...

    2 par 38's probably wont cut it. i had 3 par38's over a 40 gallon breeder a while back and i still needed a bit more. and IMO it just doesnt look good, you have a major spotlight effect its like taking 2 really powerful flashlights and pointing them into the tank haha.

    one AI SOL would probably have decent coverage, the outsides would be dimmer. Down the road you would probably want two of them.

    You will have some serious dark spots with one AI, you will want 2.

    Par 38s, the ecoxotic's won't work the lense is too narrow, they are spots.

    I think that orphek has some with 90 or greater lenses that could work if you mount high enough.

    I had 5 par38s on my 65g (just a bit taller) and I could of used 1 or 2 more. No way 2 will cover it.

    Kessil A350w or Ecoxotic and Panorama Pro's and some Stunner Strips w/Reflectors are good choices.
