    Is there anyway that I can get a light setup for under $300 for a 75 gal tank? I would like to be able to keep all types of corals but I really do not want to pay $500 for a MH fixture.

    You will need a 4X54w T5HO to meet your needs. Not sure you can find one for under $300 new. Try Craig's List.

    I heard that T5HO lighting can only support Soft Corals though, not SPS or LPS.

    Spend the money now because down the road you don't want to have to buy something else just to meet your growing desires. Like 2in10 said check craigs list.

    You heard wrong, a good T5HO fixture penetrates 6 inches deeper than a 250MH with less heat and energy use also.

    I have a 6 x 54 watt t5ho hanging over my 75 gallon and can keep any coral with it, deff go with a t5!
