I am batting about the idea of a 5.5 gallon tank. I think I would like about 30 watts of lighting over it. Suggestions?

    note:
    5.5 gallons are 16" long

you can get a two bulb Current 18" T5 fixture, one 18w actinic and one 18w 10k. It has legs that move around so it would sit on a 16" tank perfectly and look very nice.. I planned on using mine for a 5.5 gallon too once I have the time to set it up.

The pc bulbs will work but the wattage will not be as high, you will have to replace them 3 times as often, more heat and lower PAR. And it will be hard to find a nice looking fixture.

Check out this tank for ideas. It's only 2 gallons, but the dude seems to be making the most of it.

Perhaps a 32 watt Aqualight double strip. Anyone know where I can get one or something like it for less than $60.00

It looks as though the bulb length may be about right, but the housing is 20 inches long. I may need to get creative if I want to make this look nice without spending a bunch of money.

I would also kind of like it if I could have separate switches for actinic and daylight bulbs.
