    You only need to turn on the lights when you wish to see the fish. A 10 to 12 hour light period will do no harm.

    Thanks bud what about at night I have a blue bulb seapart fixture should I leave it on or turn it off. Do fish see good enuff at night or do they need a night light

    No need for light at night. The fish will generally go into the rock to find safe sleeping places.
