lighting for 20gallon?

    Also, another big thing to consider, what kind of reflectors do the PC's your looking at come with?

    so don't compare watts at all? i was told 6watts per gallon. is that wrong? and is 10000k's good for sps, clams and such? so even if i only have 50 some watts but as long as it's t5 its will be bright enough?

    Based on what you want to keep......No. You are still on PCs (CF). They will not work for SPS or more light demanding LPS.

    The first link gazog had, the 96w T5 with individual reflectors, would be much more powerful than that 130w PC fixture

    It is a guideline. You have to look at PAR value as well. PAR is more important. The quality and intensity of the light is what keeps the corals alive and well. I would say around 4 watts per gallon minimum with T5s will satisfy both requirements. That is why I like the 4x24W. It is enough. And Iraf had a great suggestion with the UVL lamps. That is what he has and what I am going to get. Also, I am going to run between 16,000 and 18,000 on my 'daylight'. It is shifted more to the blue side of the light spectrum.

    ok then i should look at t5 sets with four bulbs? you think i'll be safe as long as its 4 t5's? haha just to make sure.

    they have an 8 bulb! would that be too much bulb? haha considering i'd be able to keep the heat low.
