I'm heading back to college again this fall and I can't my tank with me for obveious reasons!!. I came up with an idea to start a very very small frag tank that i could continue my hoby in the very limited amount of space that I have. With my what my specs look like now it looks like that I will have a tank that will be about 12''-14'' long. I found a 13'' Odyssea 24w light. I'm looking to keep some SPS and maybe some Buttons. What do you think? Possible or am I going to have to suffer at school!

    i would say very possible

    but a 2.5g thats 12-14 inches?
that would be very narrow/ shallow
i would say you would have more luck with sps if you go shallow but you have to consider they would have to be small pieces otherwise they would be out of the water
buttons will be a piece of cake
are you making the tank or buying it?
if your buying it could you show us what
and if your making it do you have a sketch or anything of the tank your planning

IIRC Melev has a 30something watt PC over a 2g nano and is/was keeping a couple clams and zoas quite happily under it. I have a pair of 36w PC's going over mine, but I am still trying to find a good way to be able to adjust the height for the best results.

Hear is a really quick drawing I did on paint

And about keeping SPS I have found that they don’t grow straight up when there is a considerable amount of flow on them.

Get this tank! It will do everything you need in small, compact package. It even has a built-in refugium with its own light.

Yeah I looked into that sight. They get a little pricey. Plus I always wanted to build a tank from scratch. Self-accomplishment kinda thing.
