My wife and I are looking into an LED light hood for our 75 gal reef tank. Corals will come in time. We want a mixed reef, with lots of soft and LPS corals with just a few SPS corals. I know the Raidions are really nice, but they are way too much $$. Do any of you have this? Onyx by Rapid LED - Rapid LED if so, how are your corals under this light? I was thinking of maybe a DIY light hood, but the link above would be cheaper.

Oh, since I've never seen an LED light hood in person. We would like it to be quiet. I don't want to hear any fans.

Are there any other cheaper LED light hoods that would support soft and LPS corals? SPS would go near the top.

our tank. 75 gal reef update Dec/4/2012 - YouTube

    Thanks.

AI sol, two units will light it up nicely. But really take a look around at our sponsors. People have reviews on them all the time. I use the sol personally but there are other ways to go about it.

I have never heard the fan on my razor, the unit runs cool enough that it has yet to come on.I really like my razor because of the clean look and built in timer system, but since you would need two for a 75 and would like to use your hood a couple of the reefbreeders units that are controllable might work well and be alot less exspensive. The rapid light you asked about looks very nice also but I think it would be good to go with ones that are controllable or at least dimmable.
