Lighting for Refug?

    I've never had one in my hands, but the MD mag states the following;

    18w 7100k blue/10000k white (50/50) *this is the one that comes standard on the light fixture that I bought*

    OK, I just looked at my spare set of 50/50 and they dont say on them, but your right that is what they say about the bulbs.

    So thats good then right ?
    When I read your first reply I thought you were saying the 50/50 wasnt good enough thats why you changed them. But with 1 7k and 1 10k that should be sufficient for a fuge, correct ?

    I changed out the bulbs b/c you dont need actinics to light a refugium, just the daylights. Luna

    I'm looking at this fixture nanotuners

    says it comes with 2x 6700k bulbs, I figure 18 watts should be enough for chaeto and mangroves to grow

    I have 2-18w 7100k bulbs and they do a great job for me. I have cheato and Mangroves too. Luna
