    Hey everyone,

I just need to know some info on lighting.

I have a lil all-in-one tank that came with everything needed for marine set up, it has 2x 40watt lights which cast a nice blue, not even sure if the blue is a good thing, but I think it looks good. I probably wont be putting corals in that tank anyway, but....

...My new 70gallon that Im setting up came with one 54watt Nature and
one 54watt Daylight. What is acceptable for some of the easier corals to grow in? Im hoping to get some nice corals one day, and as this tank wasnt specifically designed for Marine, Im assuming that these lights wont even be enough for my Live Rock?!

What do the bulbs look like? They might be pc's or just regular flourescent bulbs. Depending on what you want to house, will dictate your lighting needs. Remember to think ahead in the future when considering a light fixture. Luna

Those sound like 48" T5 lighting, since it is 54W bulbs. The 40W lights look to be normal output 48" T12 lighting. CF don't come in those wattages.
Depending on how deep your tanks are, will determine what you can keep with that type of lighting. :)

Different corals require different lighting intensities! Depending on what specific types of coral will help you to better choose the lighting scheme for your tank. Live rock doesn't require light to survive, by the way...
I would research the various corals and husbandry requirements of each to help you in your decision.
