Hello everyone, I just replaced my lights today with a retrofit kit and they are awesome! I am kinda concerned that they might be to bright. They are compact florescents. It boils down to about 4 watts per gallon. Is this to much?

In a word...no. In fact depending on what kind of corals you want to keep it could be to little. You should be fine with shrooms, zoas, and probably softies though. Congrats on the new light.

    Welcome to 3reef.:)

not even close, i ran 11 watts per gallon on a 75 that was 18" high and even that wasnt enough to get 400 par on the bottom no matter what bulb and ballast i used.
a par meter will let you know whats what
