would 1000 watts of mh be overkill or am i just paranoid? i have mainly sps in my 75 that's all get transferred over to this 125 when its done cycling and stabilizes... someone reassure me please... i was thinking about 4 250 watt hamilton pendants because this 125 is weird and only has a center brace not 2 so i cant do just three lights it either has to be 2 or 4 and i just don't think 2 will cut it.

Lets See. I dont believe it would be "overkill"...Heck...there is no overkill in reefing ;). My only concern would be 1. Heating and 2. Algae growth. Other than that, it should be ok.

If you're worried about the center brace blocking the light you could go with 250 watt mh's at the ends and a couple of 150's on either side of that center brace.
That should give you sufficient lighting to keep just about any type of coral you would want. Plus you could throw in a couple of T5 HO actinics for some nice blue color in the mornings and evening. Of course it were my money... I would have to buy it one piece at a time :)
