lighting question :D

    hey guys i got a 2 250w metal halides with 2 t5s and 2 rly long rows of moon lights. so what i wanna do is take out my t5s and moon lites and poot in the t5/actenic lighting and then replace the moon lights with regular actenics so basicly just switch out the bulbs with actenic t5s and regular actenics. so then i got

    two 250w metal halides

    two t5/actenics

    two regular actenics

    so i wanna now is this to much lighting? can i do this? becuz if so this lighting woud grow ANYTHING U WANTED! cuz i wanna make my tank a SPS tank and soft coral and i want the actenics to make my sps and zoas look good. my tanks 55 gallons 48'' long

    If I did the math right that is a lot of lighting. I am sure you would be able to support stuff very well but you would definitely have to light acclimate any thing you get cause most places are not using that much lighting for there tanks.

    thats funny I was thinking of doing the same thing as I want to really try the figi purple bulb lol and add another different blue antic to the mix right now I have 2 x 250s xm 20k and rad 20 k and 2 t5ho super antic. I could fit 2 more in there and still have space for my moonlights. as far as over kill no you will be around a 400 watt m/h what size tank is this going on?

    and as AaaRr stated "definitely have to light acclimate any thing you get cause most places are not using that much lighting for there tanks."
