Quick question....I have a 180 gal tank that I am turning reef. I just purchased a used MH fixture from a guy off craiglist dirt cheap. It has 2 (150W MH and 2 3ft T-12 actinics). I was wanting a 6 ft fixture with an additional 150W MH light but couldn't find one in my price range. Anyway, I was wondering.....if I build a canopy for my 6 ft 180 gal tank could I just suspend the fixture in the canopy and then retro fit a 150 next to it? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

If the MH are not connected to the T12 yes. Just mount the MH at 1 ft, 3 ft and 5 ft marks

The MH are on a seperate external ballast.

The fixture I bought is not a retor fit though......It is made to hang from the ceiling. Can I just hang it at the top of the canopy and then put a retro fit next to it then?
