I have a spare 36" coralife dual 96W PC hood that I think will work on my 55 gallon fuge .....Which PC lights should I use for the Fuge lights ?? Do they make a lower spectrum light for the Macro ??

Also...anyone use the Corallife hanging supports for a 72" light hood ?? I refuse the use the stock legs on the 72"..way to flimsy !! and i looked at the adjustable system they have and it also looks like it is boarderline support for that long of a light.

    Thanks

As for the lights on the fuge, you can use a 10,000K, a 6700K would be a little better, more red.

yes they do make plants, they probably would either be in the spectrums listed above or called a fresh water bulb

Coralife does make a 6700k bulb. Use two or one each of the 6700 and 10000k bulb.

I used the legs on my 72" Coralife fixture... Granted I only ran the thing for a couple months but they were sturdy...but I had the Lunar Fixture which comes with different "legs". I would trust them though, once they are in they are solid just make sure you install them correctly and don't store your aquarium tringkets on the light like I do! :-D

    Happy lighting!

Thanks for the replies....I found some 96 watt 6700 PC lights.....would it be better to go with the dual 6700..or 1 6700 and 1 10,000 ??

And I think the mounting brackets on the lights are stripped a little because I can't get them very tight ...and I tried many different types of screws ......its used and I think the previous owner used different screws because they were very short and barely into the monuting hardware. I decided to go with a ceiling mount system ....I will just modify the coralife mounting brackets to reach the ceiling.

I would be afraid of burning the macro's. Not sure if that's possible, but for what its worth most macro algae's do well in ~3 watts per gallon
