    Hey all
I am going to setup a 180 72x24x24 aquarium and I am looking for suggestions on lighting. The aquarium has a center glass brace so I know it will be dark there and really don't think it will be to much of an issue since I plan on ha inv my rock at the 1/3 marks. So should I bite the bullet and build LED fixtures or would I be better off with MH in the 250 or 400w range with LED or T5 supplements?

I would suggest the LED if you can afford it. You will have less energy use, no need to replace bulbs for many years, less heat generation and you will be able to control the PAR output of the lights if you get dimmers. You will also be able to control the spectrum much better building your own.
