Lighting that i can get

So i was looking on craigslist and this was posted for $200 bucks

48" Deluxe 2 x Metal Halide & 2 x 110W VHO Fixture by Hamilton Technology - AquaCave

My question is i am considering getting it.. right now i have 265 w of pc with current usa dual days and dual actinics in it... and HO 2x 50 watt T5 actinics to complete a day cycle..

How much better will the Hamiliton light be compared to what im running.. everything right now is doing really well and showing significant growth on a couple day basis...

The bulbs in the unit FS are halids 6 months of use an VHO 3 months

hmm seems like an ok buy to me, i would think it would be an upgrade from what you have now. you also have to think about heat issus with MHs.

 

I would be a little worried about that reflector. Looks like it is on the cheap side maybe...? And in all honesty VHO's popularity is fading rather fast. But it would be a heck of a lot better than pc's that is for sure! I would say go for it, anything is better than pc's. What size tank do you have?

I would not get it. Its only a little step up from what you have now. I would spend a little more and get a Metal Halide setup

 

It is a metal halide setup.. it has 2 175 w halides and 2 110 w vho actinics.
