    Fred Meyers sells a surge protector called " the octupus " 5 short legs for pluging in timers...and 15 amp protection...easy to fit timers on or anything with larger plugs.....would pay for itself in electricity saved by going 12/24

    i go 12 on 12 off. reverse from DT. So far cheato is growing like mad and i've only had my fuge going for a little more than a week. it wont matter for pods. i would think they would like the dark time, as that is when i see the most of them around the tank, but i dunno really. I would say with keeping seahorses, you would want to keep your PH as stable as possible, so go with 12 on 12 off.
