    I really liked the shimmer effect of the LEDs the royal blues really seemed to wash out a lot of the purples and blues.
    The Lumenmax 3 pendants really give a good shimmer effect as well.

    Wow the tank looks awesome, Kc! The monti my favorite part. :) How long did it take to get that big?

    Thanks Telgar. How do you like the 400 watt on a 90 gallon tank. Do you have heating problems or do you run a chiller.

    Thanks. It took about 9 months to grow that size from a quarter size frag. Monti is the only sps in my tank that grew under the LEDs

    to be honest I think it would work better with 2x 250w spread a few inches wider apart. no chiller, the ac keeps the area in the low 70's and the light hangs at 16" over the water and the heaters still kick in to mainain a temp of 79.

    My tank temp jumped to 82 today. I need to add a fan to the sump. I have 4 in the canopy now with the lights 12 inches off the water. May need to lower the house temp a bit also.

    yeah, mine are hanging pendants, no canopy to trap any heat.

    edit: just noticed your in New Mexico, do you use a swamp cooler to cool down the house?

    No I have refrigerated air but its been 90 plus the last couple weeks. I keep the house around 76
