You are correct in that assumption. Most of the time the fish store will have a pretty decent amount of light on their frags, such as T5 high outputs with 4-8 bulbs or something similar. So the jump up in light is not that drastic. I personally went from a freshwater equivalent light to an awsome dual 250 MH light, huge difference. In other words from the fish store to your tank would be like going from inside your living room to walking outside (small difference). In my case it was like going from a closet with a little light shining under the door to walking outside (big difference). See where I'm goin with this?
