I have a Coralife ballast with 50 65x65 bulb. Im going from a 30 rectangular tank to a 36g bf. I know the lighting I have is sufficient, but for a 30" wide tank, what would be good lighting options that are more powerful than what I have? Im looking yo be cost efficient. anything in the 100-200 max range? (I dont know which ballast companies are high or low quality).

So your saying your lights are Power Compacts? What is 50 65X65? You'd get better answers if your description was a little less vague SharkBate.

Just start looking around at our Sponsors sites. They usually have good deals on moderately priced lights, unless you wanna go Ebay?
Try Drs Foster/Smith, Aquacave, ReefGeek are a few everyone here swears by. TEK lights are good moderately priced.

Look also in our For Sale thread here on this site. Craigslist also has good used equipment for sale. Its just a matter of matching size with the quality you want vs. $$$
