I have a Sunpod on my 46 gallon bow and was thinking of attaching this Coralife Aqualight T5 Strip Lighting with velcro to the back of the Sunpod so I could have actinics as well. This fixture is not HO T5 just normal output 2 21 watt T5 bulbs. What do people think? Dasco attached moonlights to his fixture with velcro also.
    Thanks,
    Adam

I would feel more comfortable with bolts. However, an industrial grade velcro should work.

I wouldnt do it!I had attempted to hang my my powerstrip to the back of my stand with industrial velcro and it fell. I would not risk a light falling into the tank. Just hang it like you did your sunpod

from what I understand....is that moonlights dont put out heat, where the powerstrip does and the other lights will. That will cause it to fall.

If I sit the T5 unit on the tank it might block light from my Sunpod HQI that also sits. I dont think that T5 unit produces any heat, their only 2 21 watt normal output bulbs. I would just like an actinic look if I could and I don't think you could bolt the unit to the Sunpod unit? If their is a way let me know

    T5's put out heat.

This is not a great strategy. Put on your thinking cap.

You would probably be better off elevating the t5 fixture so its as high as your sunpod, then you dont need to attach it.You could attach something to the t5 fixture itself, maybe biocks of wood.

I wouldn't do it. Looks too heavy.
