So this morning I go to turn on the tank light....No dice.
Scrambling around the lfs and other places looking for a replacement posthaste. I have a sun lamp on by the tank right now. I know it's not optimal but ya do what you gotta do :(

Is there anything you can figure out is wrong? Lamps or ballast perhaps? What type of light is it?

    It's a triple tube fluorescent
    2x10,000K daylights
    1 420 actinic.

I know they weren't the best anyway but the tank was happy......
I'll try taking in apart tonight but I take this as a sign to upgrade, LMAO!

Oh, so its a standard T8 fixture? If so the newer ones made do NOT have the replaceable started as the older ones did so if the starter goes you need a new fixture! Darn you Perfecto and All Glass, I mean Aqueon!!

I have found through experience that turning the lights on and off manually (with the switch) wears out the switch and/or sometimes salt and corrosion will cause the switch to stay on or off. Best solution is a timer. Most modern fixtures are now equipped with a protective covering over the on/off switch but a timer is the answer.
