    I am clue less about this I just buy what ever I feel will work out best for me. lol.. I am running pc lighting 10000k bulbs...I donno if I am good with it but it works along with my pc lighting I run. moon lights....lmao. Clue less in arizona. I have always ran my tanks like this and had beautiful tanks. no guilance .. just guess work. lol.

    My advice to you is to do alot of research. Read up on lighting, equipment, compatability, husbandry etc. before you go and spend money on things you don't need, or spending to much money for something when you could have purchased it cheaper elsewhere. Also, have a plan as to where you want to be in the near future as far as tank set-up and companions so that you aren't buying one item, only to have to turn around and buy the same one, but in a different size. Or have to buy another one due to it not being sufficent in size, strength or intensity(ie.lighting, filtration)
    Just trying yto help you not make some of the same mistakes that I made when I first started my reef tanks!

    A very good book for beginners is "Reef Secrets" by Alf Jacob Nilsen and Svein A. Fossa. That was the first book I purchased way back when :)
