    I have 30 watts of halide on my 10 gallon fuge. Should i always leave the light on?????????

    depends on the macro that you are growing.

    Most people run them opposite of their display lights.

    Wait, how do you have 30 watts of halide? I've never seen one lower than a 70 watt.

    You electricity bill would go up.;D You shouldn't have any problems by runnning i 24/7, but if you just run it opposite you display lights, it will help buffer your PH at night.

    By the way, I believe plants need time to rest just like everything else. I'm not really that informed with macro algae, but I believe it has something to do with photosynthesis and chlorophyll needing a "break" or something. Actually, if you look in there at night some of the macro's will be night, I know they are releasing something off(I can't remember this stuff lol) but I do not know wht they release when they turn white. Maybe Mr. Malony can chime in on this one, he's like the algae expert.
