I have been looking around and am deciding on getting this lighting system for my 55g Reef.

    Sunlight Supply Tek 6x54w

    Questions:
Have any of you had experience with this lighting fixture?...Any Good?
Do you think it will be good for my 55g?
Could I possibly keep SPS corals under it?...Clams?...Anemones?
What would be the best bulbs to put in this fixture?...Will any T5HO Bulbs fit?

Thank you a lot. Sorry about all of the questions, but I'm tired of my current lighting fixture (Current USA 2x54 T5)...Not enough light for what I want to keep.

that should be plenty of lighting, but i will let someone else chime in for the bulbs you should get.

you could probably get away with a 6 bulb and save yourself the money on the fixture and the monthly electric bill.

before you buy wait for someone to confirm if the 6 bulb would be okay for sps.

The 6 bulb will work fine for your stated needs. Buy 3 ATI Blue Plus, 2 ATI Aquablue Special and 1 UVL Actinic White. Place then front to back Blue plus, aquablue special, b+,actinic white, aquablue, b+.

Thanks a lot! If I happen to upgrade to a larger 4' tank (90g-120g). Would the 6-bulb still be ok?

It would but you would have to be careful with coral placement. In fact I would advise it period. The more light needing corals should be placed toward the top of your rocks. You might want an 8 bulb unit for the 120 to get better coverage.

Well in the 90g, I would be getting ~3.6w/gal. Is that good enough for SPS as far as lighting? It is going to be mixed anyways and SPS will mostly be placed at the top.
