Browsers...have tried them all...IE, Firefox, IRider, Opera, etc, etc.

But NOTHING loads pages faster then this:

    Safari (Apple) - Mac/PC

All the standard browsing features (popup blocking, etc)

my system is linux based with no hassle. most of the time its not the home computer that slows down the transmission but the sites server. granted there are other causes that come into play.

I like a good Debian box for 90% of what I do. Sadly I'm tied to this Vista install while I test other stuff.

Safari = trouble. Watch for wonky Javascript.

Am running on vista now. Did have to load new "flashplayer" after install.

No gliches so far other then learning how to drive it...

But think I even have that down pretty well now.

Compared with all the other browsers on my PC - makes them all look clunky.

    Am unloading old ones now.

Got any Java intensive sites you want me to check out with? Ones I checked OK.

Still experimenting. --- but awesome performance as far as I can see.

    i know i am

most home based computers are NOT linux based. but with the firewall and the way linux is designed i have no fear of getting a virus, which is one of the whatevers that would slow down a home computer. the worst is a keystroke virus, youll never know its on your computer, no matter what the security firewall is. my friend had all the new up to date high tech firewalls which showed no viruses, but he had 5. so now hes using linux.

So true...have tried Norton, Etrust, probably every spam/malware blocker on web...stuff still gets thru.

Am now trying out the 90 free trial of WindowsLiveOneCare

If works as advertised, will well be worth price. Esp. if works and you buy, you can load on up to 3 home PC's. (That is a first for a virus scanner as far as I know.) --- Who knows their security flaws better the big BillG & co.

Only been using couple of days now...so have no idea how well it works yet.

linux is open free software but its not compatible with most of the other operating systems. if one were to switch there computer over to linux, then all other applicable operations would have to come from linux. its worth checking out, i can do the same if not more on my computer as you can. the latest version updates itself. and i think matt rogers computer is also linux.
