+1 on timer, less troublesome than relying on brother plus one. LOL.

make sure you get mid-grade timer, I bought the cheapest brinks and the darn thing didnt even work after 1 day. it was at wal-mart. get the ones you can turn on and off multiple times a day (usally 3 prong)

I got tired of not being able to set my timer exactly how I wanted to so I bought a digital timer from walmart. Works great.

Everything will be fine. Corals begin to live on somewhat of a schedule just like fish do. Around the same time everyday corals will begin to get ready for night. The extra light won't hurt them at all. I've left mine on for 36 hours before when I didn't end up coming home and everything was fine.

the shrooms and in fact many other corals adapt to the routine or your lighting so the shrooms shrivelled up just as they would do at night anyway - it might not have got dark, but they knew it was bed time!

like everyone else said - they will be fine

My big tank has a built in timer but I bought a coralife power strip with digital timers built in , it's even got a backup battery so you don't have to reset everything everytime the power goes out
