    I have a 36" long tank but I might be able to get a good deal on a 48" light setup. If i hang them from the ceiling would there be any negative effects from the lights being a little longer? Would it look strange, does anyone have something like this? thanks.

    The only negative I could think of is you'd be lighting some of the room instead of the tank. Also, to me it would look strange, but maybe you wouldn't mind?

    If you stand to get that good of a deal, why not consider upgrading to a 48" tank? Heck, life gives you lemons and all, ya know? :)
