That sounds like the american way. Everybody expects instant gratification just like when they go to the store or a fast food restaurant. They want it now, they get it now. That doesnt work when it comes to animals. Animals wheter it be fish/corals, dog or cat. There is a set way of doing things, if you go against it, sometimes you might be ok and nothing major happen, but most of the time its a total loss.

As mentioned before, some people just are not cut out to do this.

Karma to you for trying to do the right thing. Sounds like you just need to have a talk with him and explain to him why things happen the way they happen...

If that doesn't work have him check out my tank thread on what can happen if you decide to try and cut corners....

sounds similar to what i did.:-/

only I havent had to get rid of anything, luckily the spike i had was a mini spike for the amount that i stocked.

good luck with it and i hope he gets on the right track, theres alot of money to loose in bigger tanks, plus the lives of the little fishes.

I too would help to keep something till he can get it established. but my 60 gallon is pretty full.

I'm taking frogspawn, montipora, mushrooms, anemone and maybe grouper (according to chart should be ok, i don't have anything small enough for it to eat). he also has a flounder (wierd kid) does anyone know anything about a flounder in an aquarium? apparently it's not very common.
