    Good job on tracking down the hipponicid without my help, lol. I've been incapacitated for a few days by a pinched nerve but I can at least sit at the computer today. Just for the sake of accuracy, hipponicids aren't a type of Sabia, it's the other way around. Sabia is a genus in the hipponix family. They do erode holes in snails, but usually don't kill them...although I'm sure it makes them vulnerable if the hipponicids die and leave the snails' soft parts exposed.

    Yeah the snail itself was fine until I pryed the sabia off of it. Within 2 minutes the snail wasn't looking too hot so I picked it up to look at the hole in it's shell again. It slid out of the shell just like escargot.
    I was going to kill the killer snail but haven't yet. I've still got it in the dessert dish in my fuge..at least til my wife notices a piece of her set is missing.
