last night in the dark i was snooping around my tank and saw what is thought to be a limpet. weirdly enough though the yellow fleshy area was enormous (like 3 times larger) compared to the shell. Is this a limpet or could it be something else. I have a very dark picture but its hard to identify if that helps

Sounds like a shield limpet but a pic would confirm it.

It could be a limpet, or it could be something else. There are a lot of different snails whose feet are several times larger than the shell, when they are fully extended and crawling. There aren't a lot of yellow snails, though. It would help if you could get a pic. Even a poor pic would probably be enough to tell if it's a limpet or if it's something else.

    Cheers,

    Don
