    I questioned that "do not touch" theory the first time that it was posted a few weeks ago. Don't know where it came from but I've handled my linkia and have seen others do the same with no bad results. :confused:

    I have a 2" green and black speckled starfish that was a hitch hiker on some live rock that I bought and I'm not sure what it eats either, but i've had it one year an it has broken off its longest leg and the leg is growing into a new starfish. It looks like a small linka star and it leaves my corals alone.

    OK, I maybe wrong on this one as it is just a guess. If I am remembering correctly--part of what they eat in tanks are 'pods. If this is true--before you get one you might want to set up a refugium or in tank container that would provide a safe place for the 'pods to multiply. I am also making this guess from what you have said about your sss. They do eat the pods that they find in the sand and if you do not have enough that they continue to thrive and multiply--the sss will die of starvation in much like the way that you have described yours dying.
