Just put two lion fish in my 30 gallon with two blue damsels and a tomato clown(3in) each lion is about 3-4 in. Lion fish are loosing their color almost turning white and my clown has white grains on it I'm pritty sure its ick but what's the best cure. Kind of new to this. Did I do any thing wrong?

Filtration is a half gallon refugium with some sand and carbon.

Any help don't want them to die.

I wish I could help, but this is a mystery to me. With a large tank and hefty filtration such as yours, I can't imagine any fish health issues. They must have already been sick when you got them. Hell, with 30 gallons of water, you should be able to keep 7 or 8 Lion fish. Even at adult size, they don't get over 12-14" long. How much sand is in the fuge?

If u want them to live get them out of the tank!!! Seriously that's like a one man tent with five 6' men in it. The damsels and the clown is probably the max ( if the damsels weren't dinner already ). Don't mean to sound mean or anything but these forums are great resource and should utilize them as much as possible before buying thing, no matter how bad we may want them. Good luck

Welcome to 3reef. I would first like to apologize for this rude, sarcastic post.We do not encourage people to put down others because of there lack of knowledge, after all we were all noobs at one point. You will find most of our members are friendly, knowledgable people, who like to help others. May I ask what kind of Lionfish these are? Heres a good link about Ich.

We just upgraded from our 30 gallon, if we had any more than 3 fish in ours, one would always die and it was always the fish we liked best. :( 3 fish is probably your max, we learned that the hard way.

Setting up false scenarios to rile folks up is just not necessary. Let's use the forum to our advantage, folks.
