Lionfish floating around??

these fish tend to have eyes bigger than their stomach in your tank, and in nature. There may be a natural defence mechanism in play that while painful to watch may save the fish. As previously noted fish seem to come back from the dead all the time. When fish unexpectedly turn ill, and there's no signs of illness (no ick, no parameter problems, etc) often there will be a natural process that they'll undergo that will bring them back. Garlic of course is still a wonderdrug. Soak food in garlic and try target feeding.

-He is still floating around at the top of the tank, at times upside
-however i fed him some silversides (with garlic) and he ate 2 pieces

Him eating really gave me some hope. Wish me luck. Again, if someone knows why he would float upside down like this please share your thoughts.

Oh yeah!!!!!!!!

my boy pulled through the hard times, and is now back to 90% full recovery. I believe it may have been him consuming the 2 large damsels that caused this episode. He is currently eating krill and silversides, so i am happy ...

darned fool fish. I'm glad he made it through. Keep the little fish away so that he doesn't try gastronomic suicide again! ;D

that damsel was a fighter, tried to take him out for beyond the gravel.lol
