lionfish?

    i have a 60 gallon reef tank and i was wondering if i was able to put a voltain lionfish.

    It wouldn't be advised long term, but most dwarfs get almost as big.

    oh how long would it take if i were to buy it when it is 2-3 inches

    All depends on food consumption. u feed him everyday expect him to grow at a rapid rate, Feed every other day or 2 days and u should have some time

    i would get the smallest one you can find and feed it sparingly. it shouldnt grow fast and by the time it is big you might have upgraded!

    i agree..depends on food consumption and most of 'em are hogs. I'd recommend a dwarf or even a fu manchu. I find them to be oen of the more colorful lionfish and wont get over 5-6" but that is just my 2 cents

    i totally agree but the chance of them living is so slim.
    i love the dwarfs and fu manchu.

    Ours is in a 42 gallon tank he loves it so far. Got some Live rock on order to give him more hiding places and a cave. From what i have read every 3 days is a good rule of thumb to slow the growth rate, everyday they will be almost 3 times the purchase size assuming 4" when bought within a year.

    We plan on having a much larger tank when we get our new house something like 75-80 gallons.
