Your opinion is always welcomed VBB aka "Tang Police". Thank you for the links, I have read them a few times now. :p

I am learning much about this hobby and the inhabitants I will have in my tank. I want to fist off say that I have read and realize that a tank can house more fish depending on its filtration and ability to handle the bio-load. Now granted I would not want to pack them in like cows to the slaughter. As I have stated in my comments, this list is a work in progress. There are a few I really, really want to have in my tank, and will most likely get them, but for the most part everything is up in the air right now.

I will be adding fish over the next year, not over the next few weeks. I have a tight budget and I am building my tank setup at the same time. So I can only tell you guys what fish I will am looking at getting in the future.

yes, I'm curious on this......my reef chromis are quite harmonious with each other.

I can tell by your postings in this thread and others that you are doing your research in making your decisions. I just mentioned my last comment because it really does boil down to what do you really, really want. All planning will then go around that. I've actually found it kind of frustrating personally because there are things I would love to have but due to corals and inverts and such I can't keep certain things. I've also found that if one really wants to keep a good bioload of fish, then it's more difficult to keep the harder more demanding SPS which are beautiful. It's all a trade off - hope this makes sense.

I hope you continue to ask for input because there are many fish keepers on here that can help with specific species. ;)

Well, in the wild thousands of damsels, chromis, and anthias school on reef drop offs.
Blue Green Chromis (Not sure on uncommon species) often kill each other over a few months. A few damsels can work, but I doubt they'll work like in the wild with no predators, i've heard some having success with black axil chromis but not for a few years, yet.

Eh, on this one I think this would only be for one. If you wanted 3 (1M, 2F) of even the smallest, I think a 75 would be minimum size. But someone else could chime in with more experience.

If I get my Clown fish now will they host an anemone when ever I introduce one?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Clowns reside, Anemones host.

Type of clown and the type of anemone make a big difference. You want to try to match species that are natural matches in the wild.

Many have success with clown and BTA despite the fact that the BTA may not be that clowns particular host.

Captive breed clowns might take longer to reside in the anemone or they may never show any interest. I would not buy wild clowns though. My BW misbars never showed any interest in Anemones, but every other clown I have owned eventually found an Anemone they liked.

It's not a given that an anemone will host your clowns. If you match the natural host to the clown then you have a much better chance. Some people have had the anemone host clowns right away while others have noted that it took some time. It's variable.

If not a natural host in the wild, then it usually will take some time and may not ever happen.

Have you decided on what clown species you want to have in your tank?

OMG, I think I found a Thielle Clownfish at a Petco. I just could not get it due to my tank not being cycled... I hope it is there in a few weeks. Do you guys think they know what they have? I know people do not recommend buying from Petco, but do you think it would be okay to get?

This is what it looks like. (not the exact fish)

Does anyone know if a puffer fish is a good addition? I read that they could kill other fish in my tank if they release their toxin.

I would say no to a puffer for a reef. Too many possible negatives (some will eat inverts) and may pick at corals.
